Judy Centers promote school readiness for children ages birth through five by connecting families to comprehensive full-day, full-year early care and education services. Parents Place of Marland (PPMD) provides resources, support, and information to parents of children with disabilities and special health care needs. PPMD is staffed primarily by parents who have faced these challenges and believes that experienced parents are a key source of knowledge and support to help other families become effective voices for their own children.
Resources and information for families, child care programs and providers, Early Head Start programs, Patty Family Support Centers, and early childhood advocates. MFN's direct services to families include family resource and child care referral specialists as well as a Parent Learderhip Institute to help parents gain the confidence to take active leadership roles within their communities.
DDA is part of the Maryland Department of Health and funds services and supports for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Maryland. DDA also operates three Medicaid Home and Community-Based Waiver programs. Some waiver programs have a long wait list so it's important for families to learn about and apply for these programs as early as possible.
